Following the signing ceremony, faculty representatives from the CUPL Law School conducted a comprehensive research symposium at Guantao, centered on the theme "Cultivating Top-Tier Innovators: Enhancing Institution-Firm Synergy in Practical Pedagogy and Integrating Political Education Mechanisms." The discussions spanned multiple critical dimensions, for instance, on casework engagement framework, both parties examined methodologies for involving internship students in case handling, debating optimal calibration of case complexity and depth. They established an equilibrium balancing practical challenge levels with students’ knowledge reserves and experience, ensuring accelerated professional growth through authentic legal practice. On talent development protocols, Guantao showcased its milestone-driven training system, featuring personalized development plans and stage-gated evaluation mechanisms designed to holistically advance students’ professional skills and career competencies. Academic-industry coordination architecture is another key subject. Both parties unanimously emphasized establishing efficient communication channels—including regular review meetings and digital platforms—for real-time internship feedback. This infrastructure enables timely curriculum adjustments and talent program optimization. On core competency alignment, the symposium defined essential developmental competencies for pre-graduation students: structured legal reasoning, precision in jurisdictional drafting, and interdisciplinary knowledge integration. Additionally, the parties exchanged insights on key initiatives including: establishing an objective evidence-based internship evaluation system, creating a joint cultivation mechanism for internationally-oriented legal professionals, enhancing practical education through co-educational mentors' engagement, and advancing Party-building integrated political education frameworks. Regarding legal talent development, resource consolidation plans were formalized to deliver specialized legal courses and organize mooting competitions. Concerning institution-firm Party-building synergy, dual-track strategies were proposed to leverage joint Party-building as a nexus to infuse political education into legal practice, and cultivate high-caliber legal experts with integrated ethical and professional excellence.
The establishment of this Joint Training Base and the successful convening of the research symposium mark a transformative advancement in the collaboration between the CUPL Law School and Guantao. Moving forward, both parties will leverage this strategic platform to deepen institution-firm pedagogy, expand the synergistic education framework across talent development, academic research, and Party-building initiative, and to cultivate more outstanding practitioners with global acumen and applied legal expertise for the country’s rule of law construction.
