On 30 September 2014, Pacific Alliance announced its acquisition of Beijing Oriental Double Eagle Golf Club. The Guantao team included partner Zhan Yonghong and associates Shen Yijun and Wang Gongzhao.
After the acquisition, Pacific Alliance will invest substantial funds and partner with premier signature golf course designers and architects to redesign the golf course. The newly designed golf course will then be added to Pacific Alliance's portfolio of "Presidents / Diamond Club" golf courses. Pacific Alliance's initial plan is to have Australian golfer Greg Norman, one of the major figures in golf in the 1980s and 1990s, nicknamed the "Great White Shark", lead the design and reconstruction of the newly acquired golf course. As Pacific Alliance’s global brand ambassador, Greg’s name will be engraved on the golf course, and the new golf course will be renamed as “Beijing Norman Golf Club”, making it the first golf course in Asia to be named after him.
This acquisition merely marks the beginning of Pacific Alliance's expansion plan. Guantao will continue to provide top-notch legal services and support to Pacific Alliance in relation to its strategic expansion plan in Beijing.
